He was an autodidact, although A. L. Cancio and W. Kappler influenced him. He spent his youth with another painter from Sarria, 'Rodín' (Manuel Rodríguez Díaz), sharing experiences. When he was forty-eight, he gave up his job in a bank firm to devote himself to painting from the professional point of view. He got in touch with art galleries and merchants in Madrid and Barcelona, as well as in Paris and Brussels on several occasions.

His most recent individual exhibitions were celebrated at 'Almirante' Gallery (Lugo, 1996 and 2001) and 'Marqués de Casariego' School (Tapia - Asturias, 1996).
